MBI Receives Public Service Excellence Recognition

IPOH – Ipoh City Council (MBI) received Public Service Excellence Recognition at the Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM) Annual Conference 2026, held in Genting Highlands recently.

The recognition reflects MBI’s continued commitment to improving the quality of service delivery to the community.

It also acknowledges MBI’s efforts in adopting technology, strengthening governance and enhancing the efficiency of sanitary landfill management.

WMAM Annual Conference brought together experts, industry players, government agencies and local authorities in the fields of solid waste management and landfill operations.

The conference served as a platform for sharing expertise, experiences and best practices, as well as the latest technological developments in the waste management industry.

MBI’s efforts were further strengthened through strategic collaboration with Selekta Spektra Sdn. Bhd. and Teraju Sepadu Sdn. Bhd.

MBI Public Works Director, Ir. Ts. Haji Arif Mohd Zainudin, represented Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah to receive the recognition.

Also present was MBI Senior Assistant Director of Public Works (Special Projects), Ir. Ts. Hajah Nur Aifa Farihah Mad Nor.

In a statement, MBI described the achievement as a catalyst to further expand strategic collaborations and explore the adoption of new technologies in solid waste management.

The initiative is in line with MBI’s aspiration to make Ipoh a cleaner, more sustainable and liveable city.
