Beyond Beauty: Miss Perak Tourism 2026 Seeks Women Ready to Represent Perak

IPOH, 5 September 2026 – The search for Perak’s representatives to the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant (MMTP) 2026 moved into an important stage today with the Miss Perak Tourism Audition, held at 22 Hale Street, Heritage Gallery, Ipoh.

A total of 11 contestants from across Perak, including participants from Teluk Intan, Kuala Kangsar and Ipoh, took part in the audition. Among them were five students from Quest International University (QIU), reflecting strong youth participation in this year’s state-level search.

The audition, held from 10.00am to 2.00pm, focused on more than appearance. Contestants were assessed on their potential to become ambassadors who can confidently represent Perak’s tourism, culture and identity at the national level.

Miss Perak Tourism 2026 places emphasis on tourism promotion, cultural representation, personal development and youth empowerment, while giving participants opportunities to strengthen their public speaking, communication and confidence. Successful contestants will also have the opportunity to promote Perak as tourism ambassadors and represent the state at the national stage of the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2026.

The judging panel comprised Ms. Caryn Chooi, Mr. Jovean Yee, Datin Caroline Wong and Ms. Lim Oi Kuen. The audition was also observed by Tan Sri Danny Ooi, Founder of the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant, and Ms. Anita Phang, MMTP Organiser Chairperson.

Following the audition, contestants will continue their journey through two interaction programmes designed to expose them to tourism, community engagement and public-facing experiences.

The first interaction will take place on 6 September 2026 at 4.30pm at Restaurant Atapas, featuring an engagement with celebrity chef Martin Yan and YB Howard Lee.

A second programme, the Miss Perak Tourism Finalist Interaction, will be held on 12 September 2026 from 10.00am to 6.00pm around Ipoh town. The day will give the finalists opportunities to interact with sponsors and members of the public while gaining greater exposure to the people, places and experiences that make Perak unique.

The Miss Perak Tourism selection serves as a platform for young women to build confidence, broaden their perspectives and develop the skills needed to represent their state with purpose.

Ultimately, two representatives from Perak will advance to the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2026 Grand Final, carrying with them the responsibility of promoting the state’s heritage, tourism attractions and cultural identity on the national stage.
