Entrepreneur Helps Barber With Cordless Hair Clipper

By Zaki MS

IPOH – A local entrepreneur has stepped forward to support a barber who demonstrated his patriotism during the National Month celebrations by providing him with a cordless hair clipper.

Ipoh-born entrepreneur Gordep Singh, better known as Dave, purchased the cordless hair clipper for barber Selvaraj Murugan, affectionately known as Raj.

Dave said he learned that Raj needed the equipment after asking him what kind of assistance he could provide.

He said Raj chose a cordless clipper as it would make his work easier and more convenient.

“The cordless clipper allows the user to cut hair comfortably from different angles without having to worry about the wire getting caught or tangled.

“I’ve helped people in need not only within Malaysia but in Nepal, India, Dubai and Oman,” he said.

Dave said he was very happy to help someone who demonstrated a strong spirit of patriotism and a willingness to contribute to the community.

Raj had previously organised a free hair-cutting programme on August 8 in conjunction with the National Month celebrations.

The programme was held at his premises at No. 12, Gerai Gunting Rambut, Persiaran Bijih Timah, here.

The premises are among the traditional barber shops that are still operating in Ipoh.

Apart from providing free haircuts, Raj also served free food to customers who attended the programme.

He said the initiative was carried out as a gesture of appreciation to the community while also helping to foster patriotic spirit among Malaysians.

Raj’s efforts caught Dave’s attention, prompting the entrepreneur to present him with the cordless hair clipper to make his work as a barber easier.

The contribution reflects the spirit of mutual assistance within the community, particularly in appreciating individuals who take the initiative to contribute to society and the country.
