SITIAWAN – Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) seized 17 live chickens during an enforcement operation at the residential area of Resident 3, Bandar Baru Setia Awan Perdana (BBSAP), here.
The operation was carried out following concerns over chicken rearing activities in a residential neighbourhood, which could potentially cause disturbances to local residents.
Apart from the chickens, enforcement officers also seized two round cages and one rectangular cage used to keep the animals.
In a statement, MPM said the action was taken to ensure that animal-rearing activities in residential areas comply with the regulations in force.
The enforcement measure also aims to maintain cleanliness, public order and a comfortable living environment for residents.
MPM will continue conducting inspections and enforcement operations from time to time to address activities that could affect the well-being of the local community.
