Haircut for a Greater Cause

In conjunction with Perak Community Specialist Hospital’s (PCSH) fundraising dinner, Wars SB Saloon & Academy participated in one of the fundraising activities with a haircut extravaganza on Sunday August 5 at AEON BIG Falim, Ipoh.

More than 10 hair stylists from the said academy did their part for charity, snipping away and styling the hair of a long stream of participants from 11am till 3pm that day.

Participants only had to pay RM20 per ticket to get a brand new look – but most of all,  have the satisfaction of knowing they were doing it all for a greater cause. All proceeds collected will be channeled towards the upgrading of facilities and services in PCSH to enable it to continue providing affordable quality healthcare to the community.

Held simultaneously at the function that day were:

  • free basic health screenings;
  • blood donation campaign from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun; and
  • charity bazaar.

The charity haircut managed to raise RM8950 while the charity bazaar raked up another RM3095, bringing in a total collection of RM12,045. A total of 170 participants attended the health screening activities throughout the day while about 74 pints of blood was collected as well.

“It is an honour to be able to participate in this fundraising activity.  This is not the first time we are doing this and I believe this will definitely not be our last,” said Mr Titus Tok, founder of Wars SB Saloon & Academy.

Chief Executive Officer of PCSH, Mr Nicholas Chan added: “It was a really great response from the public today and we appreciate each and everyone who have supported us. I always believe that together, we CAN make a difference in the community.

Chairman of PCSH Fundraising Organizing Committee, Mr Woo expressed his gratitude by saying: “The event would not have been such a success without the helping hand extended by the sponsors:  AEON Big Falim, Ipoh and Venus Excellent Sdn Bhd.”
