Overwhelming Response for Dance Championship

One of the most exciting dance events in Malaysia, the Perak International Dance Championship (PIDC 2019) unfolded at the ballroom of Syeun Hotel on Saturday, October 26. It was helmed by Veroy Ng, the director of The Dance Lab also current Malaysia professional Latin Champion as the organising chairman.


Latin in action

PIDC 2019 attracted more than 250 dancers from over 15 countries and all over Malaysia. Equally star-studded was its lineup of world-renowned international adjudicators from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Spain, Croatia, Bulgaria, Russia, China, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and local dance experts.

The morning and afternoon sessions of the dance competition covered various categories – professionals, amateurs, novices, juveniles, synchronized, solo, beginners and show dance for various age groups.


Top winners of Professional Open Ballroom

Attended by over 360, the evening gala dinner began with an opening dance by the professional and amateur dancers, followed by the opening speeches by the organising chairman, Veroy Ng and the president of Malaysia Ballroom Dance Council, Dato’ Dr Geoffrey Tan.


Top winners of Professional Open Latin

The main highlight of the evening competition featured the professional open and amateur open categories. Marcin Wojtkoviak and Dominika Rucinska (Poland) emerged as the champion for the Professional Open Latin while Diego Arias and Ekaterina Ermolina (Spain) were crowned champion for the Professional Open Ballroom.
