Some 150 underprivileged children from five homes were entertained with lunch in conjunction with Christmas and New Year Celebration at St John’s Hall which was organised by Love and Welfare Society, Ipoh.
Dr James Ratnam, President of the Society said that this is an annual event organised by the society to ensure that during festive seasons, these special children were not forgotten. It is to let them know that there are people who care for them. The children were given cash vouchers to purchase their school needs.
Children from the homes sang carols to entertain the guests. This was also an opportunity for them to meet other children. Children from the following homes were entertained: Good Shepherd Home, Praise Home, Precious Gift Home, One Malaysia Home and Joyful Home. It was sad to see boys and girls as young as three years living in the homes through no fault of their own.
