QIU and RYTHM Foundation Collaborate on Community Impact Programme

by KT Leong

Quest International University (QIU) and Raise Yourself To Help Mankind (RYTHM) Foundation have jointly launched the QIU Community Impact Programme to cultivate a culture of social responsibility among its faculty and students.

RYTHM Foundation is the social impact initiative of the QI Group and empowers lives and transforms communities through various sustainable initiatives. Such as their recent digital and financial literacy workshops for the capacity building of single mothers (Womenpreneur A to Z Workshop) and academic coaching for Form 5 students from underprivileged households (Coaching Programme).

For the Womenpreneur programme, participants from the programme spoke about how the programme helped them to improve their businesses by teaching them how to better keep track of their finances, while for the Coaching programme, the students spoke about the teaching methods employed in the programme, which was different from what they were used to at school.

Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran, the chairperson of the RYTHM Foundation, gave an impassioned speech on the need to help others.

“No one can really say that they did it all by themselves. Remember that someone helped you get where you are. That gratitude, you must never forget that. Because if you forget that gratitude, then you will fall very fast.”

This was followed with a closing speech by Dato’ Sri Vijay Eswaran, Founder and Executive Chairman of QI Group, who emphasised the importance of creating socially responsible graduates. He stated that he didn’t want QIU to simply churn out graduates who know some information, but instil in them grit and the care of others. And that if they succeed in that, then QIU would succeed in their duty to the students.

RYTHM will continue their social responsibility programmes, with an upcoming project in Negeri Sembilan.
