IPOH – The Archaeo & Geopark Valley of Lenggong Tourism Package, launched today by Tourism Malaysia, is set to attract more domestic and international tourists to the birthplace of Perak Man, Lenggong.

Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof, the Senior Director of the Domestic & Event Division at Tourism Malaysia, announced that a total of 48 tourism packages have been developed in collaboration with 15 tourism operators in the Northern and Central regions.

“These packages, which promote archaeological heritage products and the Lenggong Geopark, offer visits to archaeological sites, hill climbing, cave exploration, boat cruises, fishing, and camping.

“The packages include the Lenggong Geopark and Ecotourism Package, Rusa Grill & Fun Trip @ Lenggong Package, Scientific Visit Package @ Lenggong, Lenggong Heritage Tour Package, Discover Historical & Cultural Geo Lenggong Package, Lenggong “Explore Caves & Eat Durian” Package, and Mini Amazon Paddling @ Lenggong Package.

“The development of these packages is a result of a 4-day, 3-night workshop and product visit held in collaboration with the Central Zone of the Department of National Heritage, Lenggong District Council, and Tourism Perak. It involved the participation of 26 tourism operators and geopark guides (geo guides) in December last year.

“The workshop provided various insights into the tourism potential at archaeological and geopark sites, as well as interesting tourism products in the Lenggong Valley, such as Gua Kajang, Gua Teluk Kelawar, Bukit Sapi, Bukit Jawa, Bukit Bunuh, Masjid Raja, Mata Air Telaga Biru, and Lembah Lenggong Archaeology Gallery,” he said after the launch event of the Arkeo & Geopark Tourism Packages in Lembah Lenggong at Weil Hotel here today.

Additionally, he stated that the offering of these packages aims to promote the uniqueness of the Lenggong Valley, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to both local and international tourists.

“Furthermore, the development of these packages also contributes to the preservation of local heritage and culture, while boosting the local economy and promoting sustainable tourism activities.

“All these tourism packages have been compiled in the Archaeo & Geopark Valley of Lenggong Tourism Package brochure, which can now be accessed on the Tourism Malaysia website at www.malaysia.travel,” he said.

Present at the event were Mohd Amzari Mohd Arzami, the Chairman of the Lenggong District Council, and Loh Sze Yee, the Chairman of the Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee.
