Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Makmur Negeri Perak shows appreciation

To recognize and appreciate the support and cooperation for making the school children’s eye screening project a  success for the year 2023, the main organiser, Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Makmur Negeri Perak had an appreciation function on Sunday 28/1/2024 at SMK Sungai Pari Ipoh. 

During the year 2023 a total of 10,063 students from various preschool, primary and secondary schools were screened with the assistance of private optical centres in Kinta, Manjung, Kuala Kangsar, Perak Tengah and Kampar districts.

The Chief Guest at the function was Tuan Khairuddin Abu Hanipah, Chairman Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee  of Perak State Government who gave away the appreciation certificates and souvenirs to the optical centres’ representatives, officials from the Education Department and other Ngos as well as some corporates. 

Tuan Khairuddin said that the project will be continued for Year 2024 with the collaboration of Perak State Education Department, Yayasan Perak and Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Makmur Negeri Perak. Free spectacles will be provided for B40 family children by Yayasan Perak.

The project Chairman also the Secretary of Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Makmur inform that the for Year 2024 about 10,000 students to be targeted at various schools, special attention will be given to preschool and first level (tahap satu) children, it will be very helpful to the parents and teachers and early remedy could be taken for those children who have eye sight problem. Others who attended the fuction were Dato’ Dr. Jasvinder Singh (Eye Specialist) also the project adviser, Dr. Philip Rajan Devasagayam, Head of ENT, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, En.-Mohamad Adek bin Abdul Rahman from Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Kinta Utara.
