Two luminescent udders flipped over,
machine-milked dry by a parliament of howls.

A pack of wool-pulling wolves suckling
on Lupa like abandoned nuts forgetting
their skins.

Soiled rootless sons, twin thieves,
self-knighted shepherds of this muddy
estuary.

Bickering brothers strutting shamanic credentials,
holier-than-thou narcissistic mummies’
boys.

Between them a bridge, an out-of-tune mouth
organ, harmonica without harmony, spread-legged,
vulnerable state of a union.

Below them, glistening, multi-coloured waters
that connects us all, reflecting stars, or even
the whole moon some nights, unseen
by the light of these oily days, this greasy
city.
