Garbage Collection Site Begins Operation in 12 Villages

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) successfully completed the construction of a garbage collection site involving 12 villages (kampung) around Ipoh.

Ipoh City Secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak said the construction of the garbage collection site was in support of the vision of the Quit Win programme by the Menteri Besar, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad, which involved garbage collection out of the operation area of local authority (PBT).

“MBI has successfully implemented the programme in 12 out of 100 villages or garbage collection points proposed by the state government. Garbage collection service began in April 2021.

“There was a slight delay for the implementation of the programme in Kampung Ulu Chepor due to the pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO).

“I hope that the villagers can make full use of this facility to ensure the cleanliness of the environment and provide benefits to all,” he said after the presentation of the garbage bin (660 liters) and garbage collection site at Masjid Rahmaniah, Kampung Ulu Chepor to the representative of Masjid Rahmaniah’s chairperson, Anuar Hussin today (August 25).

Also present were MBI Zone 5 (Manjoi) Council Member, Datuk Azizul Kama Abd Aziz; MBI Zone 3 (Manjoi) Council Member, Mohammad Sharif Mohamad b. Sharif, and the committee members of Masjid Rahmaniah.
