CHANGKAT JERING: The concerns of road users who frequently travel along Jalan Bukit Berapit have finally been addressed with the installation of streetlights to brighten the previously dark area at night.

According to the State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Changkat Jering, Rahim Ismail, he had applied for the installation of streetlights at the location last year.

He stated that a total of 10 units have been installed in the first phase.
“Phase 2 will follow and is expected to be implemented soon.”

“Thank you to the Larut Matang and Selama District Public Works Department (JKR) and the Electrical Unit for their swift action and commitment in realizing this project for the safety and convenience of local residents.
“This installation was very much needed, especially for road users at night.
“I will continue to monitor this development and ensure the next phase proceeds smoothly,” he said.

In a separate update, Rahim also informed that three solar-powered lights have been installed on the Bukit Gantang flyover.
He said the location had previously been identified as a dark and high-risk area, particularly at night.

“With this lighting, it will enhance the safety level for road users in the area.”
“Hopefully, this facility will benefit all road users and stand as proof that the voices of the people are always heard,” he added.
