IPOH: Perak police have denied claims circulating on social media alleging that a Chinese woman was arrested following the stage intrusion incident during the state-level National Day celebration.

Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, Dato’ M Kumar, stated that the individual who was detained is actually a 41-year-old local woman of Malay ethnicity.
“The viral claims on social media, particularly on Facebook, suggesting that a Chinese woman was arrested are untrue.
“The police emphasize that the suspect involved is a local Malay woman,” he said.
A urine test conducted on the suspect returned negative for any drug substances.
The investigation into the suspect is being carried out under Section 325 and Section 511 of the Penal Code.
At the same time, action is also being taken against individuals who spread false information related to the incident.
“An investigation has been opened under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“Therefore, the police issue a stern warning that strict and uncompromising action will be taken against any individuals who intentionally create or disseminate fake news that could cause public unrest or disturb social harmony,” he added.
