IPOH, Sept 9 — Over 200 players from Malaysia and Singapore will compete at the PFC Open 2025 pickleball tournament on September 13-14 at Pickleball Fun Club Ipoh.

Tourism Perak Sdn Bhd chairman, Datuk Mohamad Kamil Datuk Shafie, said the national-level tournament will feature players from across the country while also attracting international participation.
“A total prize pool of RM40,000 will be up for grabs, making this the biggest pickleball tournament ever organised in Perak.
“The event is organised by Pickleball Fun Club Ipoh in collaboration with Perfect Sports Pickleball Club and fully supported by Tourism Perak.
“Pickleball Fun Club Ipoh is also a pioneer of the sport, boasting international-standard and prestigious courts,” he told reporters at a press conference at Tourism Perak’s office here.

Pickleball Fun Club director Vincenns Lim said the tournament features three main categories and six sub-categories, including men’s doubles, mixed doubles, and men’s singles for players aged 19 and above.
“The opening ceremony will be held on September 13 and officiated by the Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman.
“We are targeting 400 entries, and registration remains open until September 10. Those interested may contact Elgin at 012-3311960 or register by scanning the QR code provided in promotional materials,” he said.
Lim added that the main objective is to strengthen sports tourism in Ipoh, which has been steadily growing since the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We also hope this tournament will serve as a platform to discover new talents with the potential to represent Perak at future Malaysia Games,” he said.
