IPOH – More than 11,000 participants took part in the National Sports Day (HSN) 2025 celebration at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Bandar Meru Raya, marking the first time the national-level event was held outside the Klang Valley to promote a sporting culture nationwide.

The event was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh.

Held under the theme “Malaysia Aktif”, the three-day celebration, running from Oct 10 to 12, features a variety of sports and recreational activities catering to all age groups.

Introduced in 2015, HSN has evolved into a national movement promoting sports as a way of life, not merely an annual celebration, but a platform for community unity and a symbol of the government’s commitment to the Malaysia MADANI agenda in line with the National Sports Vision 2030.

This year’s celebration includes over 40 key events at the national level and hundreds of state and district-level activities, targeting the participation of 5.2 million Malaysians nationwide.

Among the highlights are the Larian Ria MADANI fun run, cycling, pickleball, stacking, pound, aerobics, netball, wall climbing, and various traditional games.

The HSN 2025 celebration also features two main clusters, namely the Malaysia Aktif Cluster, which focuses on fitness, traditional games and community recreation, and the Sports Industry Cluster, which involves participation from private sector and NGO exhibitors showcasing sports products, services and promotions.
