IPOH: Six months of tough and challenging military training have transformed 464 ordinary youths into members of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

They successfully completed the Air Force Basic Recruit Training (PjM U) Series 69/25, which began on April 21 at the RMAF College in Ipoh.

The trainees, consisting of 342 men and 122 women, underwent basic military training, academic classes, as well as theoretical and practical tests.

After completing this phase, they will proceed to specialized training courses based on their respective fields before being assigned to RMAF units.

The graduation parade of the PjM U Series 69/25 made history when, for the first time, a female trainee was awarded the Best Overall Recruit title.

Previously, the top overall trainee for each series had always been male.

This year marked a historic milestone when PjM U (W) Norshafina Mohd Nooh, 26, from Segamat, Johor, was named the Best Overall Recruit.

The Best Academic Award went to PjM U Muhammad Amzar Amsyar Aznan, 22, from Taiping, Perak.

Earlier, the graduation parade was attended by the Chief of Air Force, General Dato’ Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, who also presented the awards to both recipients.
