IPOH: The Jelapang State Assemblyman’s Service Centre organized a food aid distribution program for the Indian community in the area in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration.

A total of 93 recipients from the Indian community benefited from this initiative, aimed at easing the burden of families ahead of the festive season.

The aid was personally handed out by Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN) Cheah Pou Hian, who also took the time to engage warmly with the recipients.

According to Cheah, such programs are part of the ongoing efforts by the Jelapang Service Centre to ensure the welfare of the local community is consistently upheld, especially during festive periods.

“We want to ensure that every segment of society can celebrate Deepavali with joy. This is a token of our appreciation and support for the Indian community in Jelapang,” he said.

The recipients welcomed the contribution and expressed their gratitude for the concern shown by the ADUN and the Jelapang Service Centre team.

This program also reflects the spirit of unity and cultural diversity that forms a core strength of the community in Jelapang.
