Blood Supply at HRPB Critically Low, Come Forward to Donate Blood

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The public is urged to come forward and donate blood as the blood supply at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) Ipoh is currently at a low level, particularly for blood groups A, B, AB, and O.

The HRPB Blood Unit informed that the significant drop in blood supply could affect treatment for chronic patients such as those with thalassemia, who require blood transfusions at least once a month to sustain their lives.

“Your blood is greatly needed to save lives. A drop of your blood can give life to those who depend entirely on the blood supply,” the statement said.

The public is called upon to become ‘Blood Heroes’ by supporting the ongoing nationwide blood donation campaign.

Regular donors are encouraged to continue donating, and eligible individuals are urged not to delay their intention to donate blood to ensure that the blood stock remains stable, especially as the year-end holiday season approaches.

Information on blood donation locations can be found on the official Derma Darah Ipoh Facebook page.

Let us all work together to ensure that HRPB’s blood supply is sufficient for everyone in need.

Fulfil your social responsibility today.
