Government Gives 50% Toll Discount in Conjunction with Christmas

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The government has announced a 50 percent toll discount in conjunction with the celebration of Christmas on 25 December, in line with the spirit of unity.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the toll discount will be given for two days, on 23 and 24 December 2025.

According to him, the discount is also intended to ease the burden of travel costs for the public, especially private vehicle users who are planning to return to their hometowns or go on holiday with their families.

“The toll discount will be given to Class 1 vehicles (Class 2 on the Penang Bridge) at all toll plazas, except toll plazas at the country’s border entry points, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building Toll Plaza on the North–South Expressway (PLUS) and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza on the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA).

“The selection of 23 and 24 December is part of a festive season and school holiday traffic dispersal initiative, especially during peak periods for travelling back to hometowns and returning to cities,” he said in a statement.

Therefore, the Ministry of Works (KKR) hopes that highway users will take advantage of this opportunity and plan their journeys carefully.

Users are also advised to use the TuJu Highway Navigation App by LLM and the MyPLUS-TTA application for a comfortable and smooth journey.

The public is also encouraged to comply with the recommended travel schedules and to prioritize safety by observing speed limits, road signs, and regulations along the highways.
