IPOH: “Healing is not just about medical treatment, but also involves emotional support and human connection,” stressed PCSH Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Chan.
He made the remarks during the organisation of a special Chinese New Year reunion dinner for inpatients at Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) yesterday.

According to him, the initiative underscores the hospital’s commitment to affordable, quality healthcare delivered with compassion.
“We understand the emotional impact on patients who are in wards during reunion dinner with their families. That’s why the hospital made special arrangements so patients could still share meaningful moments with their loved ones,” he said.

The carefully prepared reunion dinner was served to all inpatients, while family members were invited to join. This allowed patients to experience the warmth of togetherness despite being away from home.
The initiative reflects PCSH’s belief that the healing process is not solely dependent on medical treatment, but also on care rooted in dignity and human connection.
“The reunion dinner symbolises unity, love, and togetherness,” said Nicholas Chan.
“For patients who are unable to return home, we wanted to bring this tradition to them. At PCSH, our patients are considered family, and we strive to support them not only physically but also emotionally,” he added.

Through this meaningful initiative, PCSH continues to prioritise the emotional well-being of patients, fostering connection, comfort, and compassion within the hospital environment.
The hospital aims to provide a healing environment that goes beyond medicine, built on empathy and human connection.
The initiative also reflects PCSH’s ongoing mission to deliver affordable, quality healthcare, placing people and compassion at the heart of every service.
