MANJUNG: The Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ Perak) has carried out inspections on express and tour buses at Terminal Bas Seri Manjung.
The operation, held from February 13 to 22, was conducted in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2026 festive season under Ops Perayaan Tahun Baharu Cina 2026.

JPJ Perak said the integrated operation aims to ensure that all public service vehicles are in safe condition and comply with regulations, thereby reducing the risk of road accidents.
“Among the aspects inspected are the use of tyres that meet stipulated standards, braking systems, lights, mirrors and reflectors.
“In addition, enforcement officers also ensure that the GPS system is activated to enable bus movements to be monitored by operating companies as well as JPJ.
“Enforcement of the installation and monitoring of the Speed Limitation Device (SLD) for express and tour buses is also emphasised,” the statement said.

The operation also involved checks on outstanding summonses of owners and drivers, as well as ensuring that operating companies comply with safety requirements.
During the same operation, urine screening tests were conducted on bus drivers in collaboration with the Agensi Antidadah Kebangsaan (AADK) Manjung District to ensure drivers are free from drug influence while on duty.
Such operations will continue from time to time as a proactive measure to ensure the safety of road users.
