IPOH: Hospital Seri Botani continues its commitment to community well-being by implementing a Blood Pressure Machine Infaq Programme.
The programme, held in conjunction with Ramadan, is part of the hospital’s corporate social responsibility initiative.
The contributions were distributed to Masjid Raudhatul Mukminin, Surau Diri Jumaat Al-Ansar in Seri Palma, and Surau Ta’adud Jumaat Ulul Albab in Seri Margosa.

Such screenings can encourage early detection of non-communicable disease risks, including hypertension, stroke and heart disease, which are increasingly concerning.
The blood pressure machines were handed over by the chief executive officer of Hospital Seri Botani, Dr Eric Yeoh Kok Ming, to the chairpersons of the respective mosques and suraus.

A demonstration session on the use of the machines was conducted by the hospital’s assistant director of nursing, Puteri Nur Izzati Megat Abdul Samat.
This was to ensure the community understands the correct techniques for using the devices and how to interpret blood pressure readings accurately.
A brief briefing session was also delivered by medical officer Dr Muhammad Syafiq Hamidi on emergency symptoms requiring immediate treatment, such as chest pain, severe headaches and dangerously high blood pressure readings.
