IPOH: Pantai Hospital Ipoh has donated nine patient beds to two welfare organisations as part of efforts to improve care and comfort for patients and elderly individuals in need.
The contribution was carried out in collaboration with the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Perak branch as part of the hospital’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Four patient beds were handed over to the Perak Palliative Care Society to support patients requiring palliative care.
Another five beds were donated to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Orang-Orang Tua Islam Titian Abadi, a welfare home that provides care and protection for elderly residents.
The handover ceremony at the welfare home included a symbolic presentation to its chairman, Ahmad Wanchik, in recognition of the organisation’s continued efforts in caring for its residents.

The programme continued with a breaking of fast session with the residents and the distribution of essential supplies in conjunction with the Ramadan month.
Pantai Hospital Ipoh Chief Executive Officer Yow Huai Mim said the hospital’s 30th anniversary was used as a platform to give back to the community that has supported the institution.
“This is a meaningful moment for us as the anniversary is not just a celebration, but also an opportunity for us to contribute back to the community.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to continue being a strong community partner, not only in providing healthcare services but also in supporting welfare efforts within society,” she said.

Meanwhile, MMA Perak branch chairman Dr Monesh Pillai expressed appreciation to Pantai Hospital Ipoh for its collaboration in making the initiative possible.
He said the role of medical professionals extends beyond treating patients in hospitals or clinics, also encompassing a social responsibility to support the community, particularly those who require additional care and assistance.
According to him, MMA Perak is also actively involved in various community service programmes and welfare initiatives around Ipoh and across Perak to assist those in need.
