IPOH – Concern for underprivileged communities continues to be demonstrated through various community outreach initiatives, particularly for orphaned children and families who have lost their primary breadwinner.

Most recently, a family grieving the passing of its head of household—who died of a heart attack in the middle of Ramadan—received special attention.

Fokus Aspirasi Sahabat Tambun (FAST), a non-governmental organisation, stepped forward to support the affected family.

Contributions included Hari Raya clothing, essential groceries and duit raya to help brighten their Aidilfitri celebration.

The recipients comprise a widow and her five children, who are now navigating life following the loss of their loved one.

The assistance was delivered by FAST chairman Faridzul Azlan, who is also a lawyer and an active community activist involved in various local welfare efforts.

He said the initiative not only helps to ease the family’s burden but also symbolises community solidarity in supporting those in need.

“Compassion and the spirit of helping one another must always be nurtured within society.

“This is our collective responsibility to ensure no one is left behind, especially orphaned children and families who have lost their source of income,” he said.

Such initiatives, he added, reflect strong humanitarian values and a spirit of togetherness in ensuring community welfare is preserved.
