POH: Residents of Lorong 8 Tambahan Baru in Jelapang have expressed concern over frequent intrusions of venomous animals such as snakes into their homes, allegedly caused by an overgrown piece of land nearby.
A resident identified as Vanan said several complaints had been lodged through the Ipoh City Council (MBI) complaint portal and at the complaint counter, but the issue kept recurring.

She said the abandoned land, which has an owner, is located at 147, Lorong 8 Tambahan Baru, Jelapang.
“For your information, I am a neighbour of the address. The land was left unmaintained for several years, becoming overgrown with thick bushes and large trees.
“This situation has caused snakes to enter my house several times, believed to have come from the overgrown area.
“I have young children who are exposed to dangerous animals such as snakes, mosquitoes and others.
“This issue worries me whenever my children play outside, and it is not only affecting us but also other neighbours in the area,” she told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.

She also expressed disappointment that previous complaints appeared to have yielded no results.
“The excuse that notices have been issued does not solve the problem if the owner remains stubborn.
“It is hoped that the councillors will also look into this issue which has dragged on for a long time, for the well-being and peace of all parties.
“Attached are the latest photographs of the overgrown area as proof for reference, and the authorities need to take firm action on this issue,” she added.
