IPOH: Six students who achieved excellent results in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination received excellence awards at a recent programme.
The Chitirai Puthandu & Tholilar Thina Prathanai 2026 programme was organised by the Perak Loyal Volunteer People’s Security Force Association in collaboration with Pertubuhan Muthamil Sangam Malaysia.
The event was held at the grounds of the Kallumalai Murugan Temple here.

According to the association’s secretary-general, A. Jegetiswary, the awards were presented to students from Tamil primary and secondary schools.
Also present at the programme were Pertubuhan Muthamil Sangam Malaysia chairman Manogaran and Edward, together with his wife from Ipoh.
“Our association also contributed two books to SRJK (T) Cheetiars and SK Buntong for the benefit of Indian students at the schools.
“A total of 50 people attended the programme together with members of the association,” she said.

During the same programme, organisers also launched a banner for a barber shop catering to Persons with Disabilities (OKU), which received support from Vinayagan Hairstylist Barber Shop Ipoh.
