IPOH: The Perak Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) successfully foiled an attempt to illegally transport 101 goats in Bidor through Ops Korban Tegas 2026.
Perak Department of Veterinary Services director, Dr Saifullizam Abd Kadir, said the operation was carried out by a team of enforcement officers from the Perak DVS as part of efforts to strengthen livestock movement control ahead of the festive season.

“The enforcement team successfully detained a vehicle at 3.30 am on Thursday at the Bikam Plantation Southbound Lay-by.
“Inspection results found that the driver failed to produce any valid livestock transportation documents.
“The modus operandi of covering the entire rear section of the vehicle with canvas in an attempt to deceive enforcement authorities also failed,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953, which provides for a fine not exceeding RM15,000 upon conviction.
Meanwhile, he explained that Ops Korban Tegas 2026, implemented in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations until the festive day, aims to monitor and curb unauthorised livestock transportation activities.
