Birdwatching, Conservation Efforts Take Centre Stage at Kinta Nature Park Biodiversity Day 2026

KAMPAR: Birdwatching, organic composting, water quality studies, habitat enrichment projects, as well as discussions on biodiversity and bird species conservation in Malaysia were among the highlights of the Kinta Nature Park Biodiversity Day 2026 celebration.

The event, organised by the Perak State Parks Corporation, was held on Saturday at the Kinta Nature Park.

The programme aimed to raise public awareness on the importance of biodiversity conservation and preservation, while promoting the potential of nature-based ecotourism in Perak.

The event was officiated by Loh Sze Yee, chairman of the State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee.

The programme also saw participation from various government agencies, organisations and institutions involved in environmental conservation and biodiversity education initiatives.

Kinta Nature Park is one of Perak’s key ecotourism destinations and serves as a habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna, including more than 120 species of resident and migratory birds, making it an important site for biodiversity conservation and nature appreciation.
