RM100,000 initiative to upgrade facilities at SK Bendang Kering

KUALA KANGSAR: The Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) continues to strengthen human capital development through the implementation of the MADANI Adopted School Programme (SAM) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bendang Kering here.

The programme handover ceremony was officiated by the ministry’s Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Planning and Management), Shafie Taib.

The Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM) is acting as the implementing agency under the ministry.

Through the initiative, the government has allocated a special fund of RM100,000 to upgrade various school facilities.

Among the improvements carried out are the assembly area, school hall, knowledge reading corner and preschool classroom.

The school has also been equipped with interactive smart boards, air coolers, educational signage and student chairs to create a more conducive learning environment.

The programme also includes academic enhancement initiatives covering Bahasa Melayu, English, Science and Mathematics.

In addition, assistance and incentives are provided to students who achieve academic excellence as encouragement to improve performance.

KPK is also focusing on student character building and leadership development through motivational leadership camps and talent development programmes.

The MADANI Adopted School Programme is expected to help bridge the rural education gap while producing knowledgeable, skilled and competitive future generations.
