Music enthusiasts and philanthropists in Perak will have the opportunity to experience a night of live performance this October as the Ipoh Fine Arts Society presents “Harmonies for Hope.” Organized in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), the charity concert aims to raise crucial funds and awareness for the NCSM – CARITAS Homes of Hope (Perak), who are dedicated to delivering essential care and support to cancer patients and their families.
Scheduled for 25 October, at 7:00 PM, the event will take place at the RTM Auditorium, located at Jabatan Penyiaran Malaysia Negeri Perak, Kompleks Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, Jalan Raja Musa Mahadi, 31400 Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan.
The concert features a joint performance by songstress Janet Lee and the WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble. Originating from Taiping, Perak, Lee is widely recognized as Malaysia’s “Queen of Shanghai Jazz”. Classically trained under baritone Cha Seng Tiang and sopranos Cecilia Yap and Wong Kooi Lan, Lee brings years of stage experience spanning jazz, cabaret, opera, and musical theatre.
Accompanying Lee is the WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble, an act renowned for blending modern Asian cultural influences into dynamic jazz arrangements. They have built a reputation on extensive regional touring across Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Macau.
“Harmonies for Hope” offers theater-style seating at the RTM Auditorium, with invitations by donations:
- Wings (Front & Back): RM 100
- Middle Back: RM 150
- Middle Front (Premium): RM 250
All proceeds directly aid the support frameworks maintained by the NCSM – CARITAS Homes of Hope. Attendance directly contributes to providing vital resources for cancer patients.
