IPOH: Efforts to assist the people of Gaza, who continue to face a humanitarian crisis, have received support from the Polytechnic and Community College (PolyCC) community through the ‘Together Rebuilding Gaza’ Humanitarian Hi-Tea Programme held recently.
The programme, organised by Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) Perak, brought together individuals, government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and non-profit organisations (NPOs) in support of efforts to channel humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
MyCARE Palestine general manager Dr Ziad M.M. Shehada also shared insights into the lives of Palestinians who continue to endure difficult circumstances, while highlighting the realities of the prolonged humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The keynote address was delivered by MyCARE Malaysia chairman Dato’ Seri Ir Dr Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha, who shared his experiences and the organisation’s ongoing efforts to deliver aid to the people of Gaza with the support and solidarity of Malaysians.
Polytechnic Ungku Omar (PUO) director Dr Salmi Che Meh attended the programme representing the Director-General of Polytechnic and Community College Education, together with directors and deputy directors of PolyCC institutions in Perak and the PUO management team.
Their presence reflected their support for MyCARE’s humanitarian efforts to assist the people of Gaza.
At the event, Salmi also received a souvenir from MyCARE in appreciation of her support for the programme.
Meanwhile, MUAFAKAT POLYCC continues to provide an avenue for PolyCC staff to contribute to the humanitarian aid efforts through their respective institutions.
Continued support is important to help ensure humanitarian assistance can reach people in Gaza who are in need.
