Some 350 Kampung Muhibbah residents in Teluk Intan received food box assistance from the Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
According to a media statement released by the MB’s office today (October 20), the contribution followed a flood caused by high tides yesterday.
A representative of Faizal contributed dried food, beverage supplies and daily meal rations.
During a visit to Kampung Muhibbah, residents were seen cleaning up their houses from the aftermath of the knee-deep flood, which was caused by an unusual high tide from Sungai Perak that overflowed through a nearby estate and damaged a dam that flooded the said estate.
A representative of the Hilir Perak Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) informed that a contractor was hired to repair the dam immediately.
Maintenance and cleaning works are presently being done by Teluk Intan Municipal Council (MPTI).
