Premises Storing Diesel Raided

Premises made into a storage for diesel at Tambun was raided by the enforcement personnel of the state Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

The raid was carried out at 7.30am yesterday after surveillance was conducted by the intelligence unit of KPDNHEP Perak for more than two weeks. 

Director of state KPDNHEP, Saifullizan Kamarul Zaman said an instruction to display the documents and declaration of the scheduled controlled goods has been issued under the Section 8 AKB 1961 and Section 8(1) AKB 1961 to a male believed to be taking care of the premises. 

Inspection in the premises also found three drums filled with liquid believed to be diesel, estimated to be 600 litres.

“A tanker containing liquid believed to be diesel of 4,200 litres and tools to transport the liquid were also found at the premises.

“The syndicate is believed to be purchasing these diesel from petrol stations around Ipoh and keeping them at the storage,” he said in a statement. 

All confiscated items including 4,800 litres of liquid believed to be diesel are estimated to be worth RM40,320. 

A 58-year-old male is also detained for further investigation.

The case will be investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
