MBI Zone 21 Blood Donation Programme Is Running Smoothly

More than 80 donors came forward to contribute at the Blood Donation Programme at Carsem Hall, Kampung Melayu Sungai Rapat yesterday.

The programme was organised by Ipoh City Councillors, JPKK and JPP Zone 21 in collaboration with Papisma, NGO Permai and NGO Kawan.

Councilor MBI Zone 21, Councilor Abu Bakar Hussian said that the programme was also joined by other agencies such as the Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN).

According to him, the event this time was not just for a blood donation programme but involved health check-up activities, specifically for women.

“We want people to take the opportunity to have a health check-up where they can also get advice from medical officers.

“It is the government’s desire to take care of the people’s well-being, which of course, includes their health.

“Therefore, we greatly appreciate the involvement of NGOs in this programme,” he said.

He also hopes that the organisation of such a programme will be able to increase public awareness and encourage coming together to donate blood.

As early as 9am, local residents attended the venue to fill out forms before being checked by health workers to donate blood.

Abu Bakar thanked the donors who donated.

“Indeed donating blood is a sincere act of giving where the recipient does not know who the donor is.

“The dedication and service of blood donors, especially active blood donors, is very meaningful because they can help patients or individuals who need blood supplies, especially in hospital blood banks,” he said.
