Perak SADC successfully executes the rice cultivation project at SK Rapat Setia, the first in Malaysia

IPOH: The first urban school paddy cultivation project in Malaysia has been initiated by students and teachers of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rapat Setia here.

The paddy cultivation project, named ECORICE SKRS, is one of the modules in the implementation of the Skills Through Design (KMR)-Project-Based Learning (PBL) program under the Showcase TS25 SK Rapat Setia.

The Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (Perak SADC) played a supportive role in the success of the project.

The agency contributed a total of 15 paddy planter boxes, including preparation work up to harvesting.

The harvesting is expected to take 4 to 6 months, with an estimated yield of 150 kilograms (kg), averaging 10kg of rice per box.

This project is showcased during the Carnival Showcase TS25 & Ecorice organized by the school.

The program was inaugurated by the Director of Education for the State of Perak, Dato’ Mohamad Fauzi Mahson.

Also present were the Senior Manager of the Special Projects in Perak SADC, Nor Sham Hazriq Abdullah, representing the Chief Executive Officer of Perak SADC, Dato’ Yahanis Yahya.
