IPOH: A biscuit factory in Gunung Rapat near here has been subjected to action after it was found to have stored controlled goods, specifically wheat flour, beyond the permitted storage limit.

The Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) for Perak, Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, stated that the inspection was carried out on Wednesday at around 10:30 AM.

He said a thorough inspection revealed that the factory had stored wheat flour exceeding the allowed limit by 5,875 kilograms (kg).

“This operation is the result of inspections at several premises around Ipoh.

“During the inspection at the factory that processes various types of biscuits, a large amount of wheat flour was found stored in the factory’s storeroom.

“The inspection found that the factory held a permit to store controlled scheduled goods, specifically wheat flour, with the allowed storage limit of 5,000kg,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

As a result, he said, 235 bags, amounting to 5,875kg of wheat flour, were confiscated, with the estimated value of the seizure at RM16,181.

He added that the case will be investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961 for allegedly failing to comply with the instructions given under the permit issued, specifically for storing the scheduled controlled good, wheat flour, beyond the prescribed storage limit.
