SERI ISKANDAR: Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, today officiated the opening of Hospital Seri Iskandar.
Also in attendance was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
The inauguration of the hospital marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen the nation’s public healthcare system.

Hospital Seri Iskandar was developed under the 10th Malaysia Plan (RMK10) at a total cost of RM153.18 million.
The project sits on an 18.9-acre site and comprises a modern, fully equipped three-storey building.
The hospital began full operations on Dec 11, 2024, to meet the healthcare needs of residents in the Perak Tengah district.
It serves 12 mukim, one town and five smaller towns, including Bandar Seri Iskandar and Bota Kanan.
To date, more than 40,000 patients have received treatment at the facility, which is supported by 401 staff members and five specialist doctors.

Hospital Seri Iskandar was built as a non-specialist hospital to replace Hospital Changkat Melintang, which had been operating since 1971.
As a non-primary hospital, it operates within a cluster system alongside Hospital Seri Manjung, which serves as the lead hospital.
This approach allows specialist services to be delivered in a more systematic, integrated and efficient manner for the public.
The development of the hospital reflects the government’s commitment to providing modern, high-quality and compassionate healthcare services to the people.
