IPOH- The DAK Solidarity Run entered its second day today as DAK Solidarity Secretariat coordinator, Neow Choo Keong, continued his journey with a 44-kilometre (km) run from Ipoh to Kampar.
The nearly 290km solo run, which began in Taiping yesterday, serves as a symbol of solidarity and an effort to raise public awareness about the welfare of three Malaysian elephants.
The second day’s run started at 5am from Ipoh, covering the Simpang Pulai route before reaching Gopeng at about 11am after completing approximately 25km.

After taking a break in the afternoon, Neow resumed the journey at 5pm, running a further 19km from Gopeng to Kampar and arriving at his destination at around 7pm.
With the completion of the second day’s route, the total distance covered since departing from Taiping has reached 105km.
The milestone marks significant progress in the six-day mission to reach the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur.
Throughout the journey, Neow also took the opportunity to engage with local communities to explain the objectives of the campaign.
At the same time, he sought public support for efforts to bring the welfare concerns of Dara, Amoi and Kelat (DAK) to Parliament.
A petition related to the issue is scheduled to be submitted on the opening day of the Dewan Rakyat sitting on June 22.
The run will continue tomorrow from Kampar to Tapah before passing through several other key locations en route to the Parliament building.
Meanwhile, Neow said that despite suffering a minor injury to his right knee, he remained determined to continue the run to Kampar.
“This struggle is not merely about physical endurance, but also about commitment and solidarity in ensuring the voices of Dara, Amoi and Kelat are heard by the wider community.
“I seek everyone’s prayers that this journey will be made easier and that I will arrive safely at my destination,” he said.
