Government Grants and Incentives Sharing Session to Support Entrepreneurs in Jelapang

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH – The Jelapang State Constituency Service Centre will organize a strategic sharing session titled “Unlocking Government Grants and Incentive Programmes” on June 26 to help entrepreneurs and members of the public gain a better understanding of various forms of government assistance.

Jelapang State Assemblyman, Cheah Pou Hian, said the programme is part of the Jelapang State Constituency Special Action Plan 2026 (PTKK) under its economic development segment.

According to him, the programme aims to enhance public understanding of government grants, financing schemes, certifications, and tax incentives.

He noted that such initiatives are crucial in helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) navigate the challenges posed by an increasingly uncertain global economic environment.

He added that entrepreneurs should take full advantage of the assistance provided by the government to reduce operating costs and strengthen their competitiveness.

The programme will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jelapang Community Hall.

Participation is free and open to entrepreneurs, SME owners, aspiring business founders, and members of the public.

Among the agencies involved are the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), and the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCER).

These agencies will share information on grant opportunities, business financing, certification standards, and technical support available to businesses.

In addition, representatives from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) are scheduled to attend and provide guidance on corporate tax filing.

The session is particularly timely as the corporate tax filing deadline falls on July 15.

A dedicated LHDN inquiry counter will also be available, allowing participants to obtain direct advice and consultation services.

Cheah said the session would be especially beneficial for young people looking to start a business, as well as companies planning to apply for government grants.
