IPOH: Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp in Ulu Kinta, which serves as the base for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) 69 Commando Unit, was officially inaugurated today.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graced the ceremony and officially opened the camp, which features state-of-the-art training facilities.
Accompanying His Royal Highness was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.

Also in attendance were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.
The dual-purpose camp integrates administrative and training functions and is equipped with a wide range of modern facilities to support the operational and training requirements of the 69 Commando Unit.
Among its key facilities are a parachute training centre, a Close Quarters Battle (CQB) training complex, an indoor shooting range, and short- and medium-range firing ranges.
The camp also features a tactical swimming pool for diving exercises, further enhancing the specialised training capabilities of the unit.

Construction of Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp officially commenced on April 30, 2018, and was fully completed on February 3, 2023.
Built on a 338-hectare site, the camp was handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police a year later as a modern and comprehensive operations, training, and administrative complex.
