He is a mixed-race minority from Malaysia and lived in Ipoh for seven years. Let crickets fill the silence within
Let needy waves that rush to shore just shush
Let the chimes be still and pine for the wind
Let clever words that yearn to poem just hush
Let’s stay low, be a shadow at dusk
Let’s shut down like prayer plants at night
Let the hollowness inside remain in its husk
Let desire grow away from the light
Synchronicity can never be forced
Circadian rhythms will run askew
Every stroke an arrhythmia, another beat lost
Breathe in, breathe out, await your due
My heart is a third lung
Yet to catch its breath in your wake
