Mayor Clarified that the MBI Did Not Contribute Any Funds to Develop Mirror Lake

Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud explained that the Ipoh City Council (MBI) did not contribute any allocation regarding the development of Mirror Lake Eco Park Ipoh.

He said so to clear the misunderstanding of some netizens who assumed that the development fund for Mirror Lake Eco Park was a form of wastage by MBI.

“The MBI did not contribute any funds pertaining to the development of Mirror Lake. In fact, the investment funds involved the consortium company, Tasik Cermin Eko Sdn Bhd, in addition to funds from overseas.

“The MBI also did not lease the land but only approved its rental and has the right to impose tax. Should any breach of agreement occur, it can be terminated in 24 hours.

“Mirror Lake Eco Park is developed based on a planned concept to make it one of the new state tourism products especially in Ipoh.

“We are set to have the first quarry park in Malaysia. Previously, it was an empty former quarry site and the initiative to recover the area has successfully attracted many visitors. Besides that, it is able to increase the environmental quality,” he said in a recent interview with Ipoh Echo.
