TAIPING: Having operated for over 60 years as Malaysia’s first and oldest zoo, Zoo Taiping & Night Safari (ZTNS) continues to draw visitors from both domestic and international destinations.
This aligns with the national aspiration to position Malaysia as a sustainable and globally competitive tourism destination.

According to the Chairman of the Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee, Teh Kok Lim, ZTNS also functions as a conservation center that plays a critical role in protecting endangered species, particularly the Malayan Tiger.
“The Malayan Tiger is a symbol of our national pride. It’s an iconic species that represents courage and strength.
“However, the reality today is that the Malayan Tiger is on the brink of extinction and classified as critically endangered.
“Programs like the fun run in conjunction with World Tiger Day are timely and meaningful, serving as a platform to instill love and responsibility towards the conservation of this species,” he said.

He made these remarks during the celebration of the 64th Anniversary of Zoo Taiping & Night Safari.
Meanwhile, Taiping Municipal Council President, Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir, said many exciting activities are planned throughout the celebration.
Among them is the launch of the Hop-On Hop-Off (HOHO) bus service, allowing visitors to explore Taiping’s major attractions in a more relaxed manner.

Key upcoming events include the World Orangutan Day celebration on August 30.
Additionally, Zoorama 2025 will take place from September 13 to 21, featuring various interactive activities, educational exhibits, and wildlife-related shows for the whole family.
In October, Taiping Bird Week will run from October 10 to 12, focusing on birdlife and its ecosystems, aligning with Taiping’s role as an important stop along the international migratory bird route.
Lastly, the iCare Pharmacy Run is scheduled for October 26, combining elements of fitness, health, and nature.
