Meru Valley Golf & Country Club (MVGCC) recently hosted a friendly match for the 54th UM-NUS Inter-University Tunku Chancellor Golf Tournament, an annual event held between Universiti Malaya (UM) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to strengthen ties and foster camaraderie. This was the third time that MVGCC has hosted this event.

With a 4BBB Stableford format, it consisted of 112 players with 56 representing UM and 56 representing NUS. It was an opportunity for all players to showcase their skills and sportsmanship as they played through the course.

4BBB Stableford format is a popular golf variant where two players form a team and compete against another team of two. Each player plays their own ball throughout the round, with the team score on each hole determined by the better score of the two players. The golfers from UM were teamed with the golfers from NUS to reflect the enduring friendship and collaboration between the two universities.

The game was governed by the Combined Stableford points system, where scores were calculated based on each player’s official national or club handicap. To ensure fairness and balance across the field, the maximum Stableford score for each participant was capped at 42 points, equivalent to six under par relative to their declared handicap.
