6,000 Flock to LWOT, Entrance Congestion Goes Viral on Social Media

IPOH, Sept 16 — An unusual congestion involving more than 500 visitors at the entrance of Sunway Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) on September 15 went viral on social media, as crowds began queuing as early as 8.30am.

According to LWOT’s management, the situation was brought under control despite the overwhelming number of visitors arriving simultaneously.

“The main issue was that too many visitors entered at the same time from various platforms, including online tickets, walk-ins and promotional passes. This disrupted the flow of crowd management.

“The situation was made worse by the scorching heat, while an estimated 500 people were seen waiting outside the narrow entrance area, making it appear more congested than it actually was,” the statement read.

The theme park recorded an estimated 6,000 visitors that day. Although there were some delays, the situation was eventually managed successfully.

LWOT explained that after implementing a new entry system to channel visitors through designated lanes, conditions stabilised by 2pm.

Despite receiving various comments from netizens, the management expressed its appreciation to all who chose the park as their holiday destination.

“We are grateful for the tremendous support. This situation provides us an opportunity to further improve our crowd management in the future.

“We hope visitors will give us another chance, as we are now better prepared to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience,” the statement added.
