MANJUNG: Despite frequent media coverage, the number of online scam cases remains alarming.

In response, the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Manjung District Police Headquarters (IPD Manjung) has launched the NSRC (National Scam Response Centre) 997 initiative.

The NSRC is a special call center established by the government to help victims of online scams take immediate action within 24 hours of the incident.

Its aim is to ensure a quick response to financial fraud cases, allowing for the detection of stolen funds and prompt enforcement actions.

The center provides a fast-reporting channel for victims of online financial scams so they can report incidents directly.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Manjung Deputy District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Rozaini Md Rodzi.

The Commercial Crime Investigation Division of IPD Manjung is introducing the NSRC through all police stations to ensure the public clearly understands its purpose and objectives.

The 997 hotline operates 24 hours a day, including weekends and public holidays.

The public is also advised to remain vigilant against the rising trend of online scams.
