IPOH: Heavy rain and strong winds that recently hit several areas in Perak have raised concerns among the public, especially about large roadside trees that are reportedly decaying.
A complainant informed Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic about the condition of several large trees along Jalan Klebang Selatan, whose branches are at risk of falling.

According to the complainant, the trees were last trimmed three years ago, and their branches have now grown to cover parts of the road frequently used by motorists.
“The weather is unpredictable these days, and the trees are old, with some branches appearing rotten and posing a danger to road users.
“We often read in news reports about vehicles being crushed by decayed trees, with some incidents even causing injuries and fatalities.
“There are also street vendors operating under the trees at certain times, which could be dangerous if anything happens.
“If possible, I hope the Ipoh City Council (MBI) can trim the trees here to ensure the safety of the public, especially now that it’s the rainy and windy season,” the person said.
