By Zaki Salleh

BATU GAJAH: The Rahmah Madani Sale program at Kellie’s Castle took a unique approach by being held on the grounds of this historical site, which is also a tourism icon in Batu Gajah.

Different from other events, this program also promoted Kellie’s Castle as a venue for various events.

As early as 9 a.m., the public had arrived, eager not to miss the opportunity to buy daily necessities.

Mohd Tsabit Abu Bakar, Director of Fest Imperio Sdn Bhd (FISB), said that more than 40 basic necessities were sold at prices much lower than the market rate.

He added that the Rahmah Sale was organized to ease the daily needs of the local community while also boosting marketing for the site.

“In addition to the Rahmah sale stalls, we brought in various agencies to participate, such as the Batu Gajah District Council, which showcased the draft district development plan, as well as police and financial institution exhibitions.

“Similarly, the Batu Gajah Health Clinic conducted health screenings, and Kellie’s Castle offered job openings to young people.

“A unique attraction was bringing a pipe band from Kuala Lumpur to perform for visitors. This is rarely seen here,” he said.

FISB manages Kellie’s Castle and has given a fresh new look to this Perak state tourism icon.

Meanwhile, visitor Hesysham Halim said he was able to save a lot by purchasing necessities at the Rahmah Sale.

He said the prices paid were nearly half of the original, resulting in significant savings.

He was also able to buy cooking oil in packet sizes within the allowed limit, unlike in regular retail stores where it often runs out.
