IPOH: The fight against dengue fever remains a key priority for the community as this vector-borne disease continues to pose a concern.
Poorly maintained surroundings and accumulated waste that can serve as mosquito breeding grounds must be cleaned up.

In view of this, the MADANI Gotong-Royong & Explorace “Search and Destroy Dengue Prevention” MyChampion COMBI Perak State-Level Programme 2025 was held at RPT Kampung Jelapang Baru here.
The programme was organised by the Perak State COMBI Committee in collaboration with the Perak State Health Department and the Kinta District Health Office.
Approximately 200 COMBI members from across Perak participated in the programme, alongside students from the Ministry of Health Malaysia Training Institute, Hulu Kinta.

COMBI stands for “Communication for Behavioural Impact” or Komunikasi untuk Perubahan Tingkah Laku.
It was introduced in Malaysia by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2001 as one of the strategies to address dengue issues in the country.
This approach is dynamic, utilising social mobilisation and communication strategies to influence individuals, families and communities towards adopting healthier behavioural changes.
The organisation of this programme clearly supports the COMBI slogan, “From the Community, By the Community, For the Community,” while strengthening community solidarity in public health care and environmental cleanliness.
